Assam Festivals

Assam has three Bihus — Rongali (spring, biggest), Kongali (autumn, austere), and Bhogali (winter, feasting). The Ambubachi Mela at Kamakhya is the tantric world's biggest gathering — the temple closes for 3 days to honour the goddess's menstrual cycle. Assamese culture uniquely blends indigenous, Vaishnavite, and Shakta traditions.
