Hariyali Teej

Hariyali Teej is a monsoon celebration of Parvati's reunion with Shiva. Falls in Shravan when the earth turns green (hariyali). Especially celebrated in Rajasthan with women dressed in green, wearing mehendi, playing on swings (jhoolas), and singing Teej songs. The vrat is lighter than Hartalika Teej and focuses on celebration alongside prayer.

🔔 Puja Vidhi

  1. Fast on Tritiya day (usually a light fruit fast)
  2. Wear green sari with red bangles and mehendi
  3. Group puja to Parvati with sindoor and green bangles as offerings
  4. Sing Teej songs; play on decorated swings
  5. Community feast of ghewar, malpua, and khaja sweets
