Anant Chaturdashi is dedicated to Lord Vishnu in his form as Anant (the endless, infinite). Observed on the 14th day of Shukla Bhadrapada — also the concluding day of Ganesh Chaturthi. Devotees tie a sacred Anant sutra (14-knotted red thread) on the right arm (men) or left arm (women), which is worn for 14 years for continuous prosperity. Combined with Ganesh Visarjan processions in Maharashtra, this is one of the most spectacular days in the Hindu calendar.

- Fast from sunrise (phalahari or one meal)
- Perform Vishnu puja: 14 chowki, 14 flowers, 14 lamps
- Tie the Anant sutra with 14 knots reciting "Anant Sansar Mahasamudre..." mantra

- Participate in or observe Ganesh Visarjan (if celebrating that too)
